4. Data Independence

SuperHire.ie maintains its own independent candidate and employer database. Registration with SuperHire.ie is separate from any prior interaction with Pale Blue Dot® Recruitment or any other platform. Data is not automatically transferred between platforms. Use of SuperHire.ie requires users to review this Privacy Policy, and any optional processing based on consent will only occur where that consent is explicitly given.

5. Legal Basis for Processing

We rely on the following legal bases under GDPR, mapped to the type of processing involved:

  • Consent: Job alerts, optional profile visibility to employers, analytics cookies, and optional marketing communications. Consent can be withdrawn at any time without affecting the lawfulness of prior processing.
  • Contractual necessity: Creating and managing user accounts, enabling job applications, managing employer accounts, and delivering paid services requested through the platform.
  • Legitimate interests: Platform security, fraud prevention, service improvement, and the limited aggregation of publicly available job listing data (see Section 6). We have assessed that these interests are not overridden by your rights and freedoms.
  • Legal obligation: Tax, accounting, and regulatory compliance requirements.

6. Aggregated Job Listings

SuperHire.ie may index or reproduce publicly available job listings from verified employer websites in order to increase the visibility of STEM opportunities in Ireland. Where we do this:

  • We have documented a legitimate interests assessment supporting this practice.
  • Listings are not materially modified.
  • Each listing is attributed to or linked directly to the original employer source.
  • We do not claim ownership of this content.

Any employer or other affected party who wishes to object to this processing or request removal may contact us at info@superhire.ie. The relevant listing will be reviewed and, where appropriate, removed promptly.

Where listings are published with prior employer consent, the originating employer retains full intellectual property ownership.

7. Sharing Your Personal Data

We do not sell personal data. We may share data in the following circumstances:

  • With verified, paying employer clients: Candidate profiles and CVs may be made available to employer users where the candidate has consented to this. Employer access is controlled and subject to monitoring measures.
  • With our data processors: Third-party service providers who support platform hosting, analytics, payment processing, and communications. All processors are bound by Data Processing Agreements.
  • For legal compliance: Where required by law, court order, or regulatory authority.
  • In a business transfer: If SuperHire.ie is sold or transferred, personal data may form part of that transfer, subject to the same protections under this policy.

8. Third-Party Data Processors and International Transfers

We work with trusted, GDPR-compliant service providers for hosting, analytics, communications, and payment processing. Some providers may operate outside the European Economic Area (EEA), including in the United States where applicable. In such cases, we rely on Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs) approved by the European Commission to ensure an adequate level of data protection. All processors are bound by Data Processing Agreements.

9. Cookies

SuperHire.ie uses cookies and similar technologies to operate the platform, remember your preferences, analyse usage, and improve your experience.

  • Strictly necessary cookies: Required for the platform to function. These cannot be disabled.
  • Analytics cookies: Used to understand how users interact with the platform. These are only set with your explicit consent.
  • Preference cookies: Used to remember your settings and personalise your experience.

You can manage or withdraw consent for non-essential cookies at any time through our cookie consent tool. Browser settings may also allow you to block or delete cookies, though this may affect site functionality.

We apply strong technical and organisational measures to protect your personal data, including:

  • TLS encryption for data in transit.
  • Encryption of data at rest.
  • Role-based access controls limiting who can view personal data.
  • Vulnerability scanning, system logging, and regular security audits.

Users are responsible for maintaining the security of their own account credentials. No platform can guarantee absolute security, and users acknowledge this by using the platform.

11. Data Retention

We set retention periods based on the purpose for which the data was collected, the need to support ongoing platform services, and any legal, regulatory, or tax obligations that apply.

  • Candidate accounts: Retained while the account remains active, and may be deleted or anonymised after up to 5 years of inactivity, unless the user requests deletion sooner or retention is required by law.
  • Job applications: Retained for up to 5 years from the end of the relevant application process, unless deletion is requested sooner or retention is required by law.
  • Employer accounts and billing records: Retained for up to 5 years for legal and tax compliance purposes.
  • System logs and backups: Up to 60 days, then securely deleted.

  • Identify, contain, and assess the breach promptly.
  • Notify affected individuals without undue delay where the breach poses a high risk to their rights and freedoms.
  • Report to the Irish Data Protection Commission within 72 hours where required by law.
