Job Description
The purpose of this role is to be an Associate Technical Leader for routine analyses under the direction of Eurofins Food Chemistry management. Learning to take on overall responsibility for the technical conduct of routine assays, study work, and validation procedures, as well as the analytical direction, review, documentation and reporting of results.
Please note this is a fixed term contract role from 23/02/2026-23/02/2027. This is a full time position working 39 hours per week - 10:00-18:30 Monday to Thursday & 10:00-17:30 Friday.
Training hours for the first 3 months will be 09:00-17:30 (Mon-Thurs) & 9:00-16:30 (Fri) for first 3 months.
- Deputise for Technical Manager as required.
- Ensure laboratory is operated in a safe manner in accordance with Eurofins H&S system requirements.
- Implementing quality system requirements in all areas of work including ensuring amendments to the Quality Manual or other QA documentation are promptly implemented as instructed.
- Acts as data approver for data generated by applicable functional group
- Consults with staff to determine project requirements and to suggest/guide plans to accomplish these needs.
- Communicates pertinent questions or information to client service staff, sample management or study directors.
- Monitor/evaluate and review the scientific performance of routine assays. Provides client services or study directors with progress reports as needed.
- Responsible for completing Out of Specification (OOS) reports.
- Communicate project or method issues with the area supervisor and suggests solutions and actions.
- Initiates eNotes and responds to eQA audits as needed.
- Works with laboratory staff to implement client specific procedures, investigations, or validations.
- Keeps methods, method summaries, and method references current and accurate.
- Assure on-time delivery of high-quality data.
- Assure that final results reported are approved and in compliance with appropriate SOPs.
- Participates in client visits, as needed.
- Provides input on team performance to area supervisor.
- Conducts all activities in a safe and efficient manner.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Uphold client confidence in accuracy and response times of testing.
Qualifications
- Degree level qualification in Chemistry, or equivalent qualification.
- Record of ongoing professional development
- Previous experience working within an accredited contract testing laboratory or related industry laboratory environment are preferred but full training will be provided.
- Skilled in data interpretation and report writing.
- Good keyboards skills and experience of LIMS Systems, MS Office packages in particular Excel.
- Good standard of written and spoken English and numeracy skills.
- Hard working self-motivated and professional team player.
- Ability to work well under pressure.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Ability to multi-task, prioritize, organise and co-ordinate your own workload.
- Ability to think critically and solve problems quickly and efficiently.
- Ability to learn new tasks.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
