Responsibilities
- Lead and develop a dedicated team of Engineers and Technicians fostering a strong culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement
- Ensure engineering resources are fully integrated within day-to-day production support and longer-term operational improvement initiatives
- Define and deliver engineering goals and objectives aligned with the overall business strategy and manufacturing priorities
- Plan and implement training and development plans to build capability and succession within the team
- Identify, implement, and sustain robust technical and system-based solutions to manufacturing challenges
- Champion a structured, methodical approach to problem solving across the organisation
- Consistently deliver against customer requirements, maintaining high standards of quality, service, and delivery performance
- Drive improvements in Service, Delivery, Quality, and Cost through the effective application of Lean and Six Sigma methodologies
- Investigate emerging process technologies and assess their potential competitive advantage and cost-benefit to the business
- Oversee and manage New Part Introduction (NPI) activities in close collaboration with Prototyping and NPI teams
Qualifications
- A Level 8 degree (or equivalent) in Mechanical, Electrical, or Manufacturing Engineering
- A minimum of five years’ relevant post-qualification engineering experience within a manufacturing environment
- Proven people management experience, including coaching, performance management, and team development
- Demonstrated experience driving continuous improvement initiatives using structured problem-solving methodologies
- Strong data analysis capability and the ability to translate insights into practical improvements
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively across cross-functional teams
- Experience in People Management, Project Management, Lean Manufacturing, and Six Sigma is advantageous
- Exposure to laser processing technologies is advantageous
